XTREME LASHES - EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Xtreme Lashes semi-permanent eyelash extensions are single strands of synthetic lashes that are applied one to your own natural lashes. Each synthetic strand is tapered at the tip with a thick base and curled to replicate a natural lash. Your therapist will meticulously and delicately attach one lash extension to one natural lash at a time for a total of 60 – 120 lash extensions per eye.

You will be lying on one of our comfortable beds, your eyes closed with your lower lashes covered to prevent the top lashes adhering to the bottom lashes. This treatment is non-invasive, painless and so relaxing that our clients often fall asleep only to awaken to lush, beautiful lashes.

The procedure generally takes 1 ½ hours for a full set, or 45 minutes – 1 hour for a lash infill.

WAXING & TINTING

At MEK Beauty Clinic, we use Caron wax. It will not go brittle or crack on the skin and is exceptionally flexible which makes delicate waxing much easier.

Hygienic practices are of utmost importance to us at MEK Beauty Clinic. When you enter the room for your wax, you can enter knowing that it is a clean, hygienic environment with the service being provided by an experienced female therapist.

We have a strict no double dipping policy. Double dipping is when the therapist will dip the same spatula back into the wax pot after already having applied wax with it. This can transfer bacteria, viruses, funguses and bodily fluids back into the wax pot. We use a clean and disposable spatula for each application.

Also, our therapists wear gloves during waxing services and we also disinfect all metal implements e.g. tweezers. Our comfortable beds are always lined with new disposable sheeting for each guest and we also never recycle wax (reheating wax and sifting out the hair).

BEFORE YOUR WAX

Please arrive with clean skin, no moisturiser and preferably no makeup for facial waxing.
Trim any long hairs. A length of about 6 – 10mm is ideal.
Painkillers prior to your treatment can be helpful if you are sensitive to pain or it is your first wax.
Waxing should not be performed on areas with any active conditions or irritations such as eczema, rashes, cuts, cold sores, etc.
If you are taking any medication that may thin your skin, please notify us prior to coming in.

AFTER YOUR WAX

Your skin can be quite sensitive after your wax so please allow about 2-3 days for the skin to calm down. Please avoid the following things until your skin has settled:

Perfumes and antiperspirants in the area waxed.
Pools, gyms, saunas and spas.
Hot showers.
Sun exposure (use sunscreen if outdoors).
Vigorous exercise and activities causing excessive perspiration.
Exfoliating your skin. This can be done lightly with a gentle exfoliating glove or an appropriate exfoliating wash once your skin has calmed (these can be purchased at MEK Beauty Clinic).

TUSCAN TAN SPRAY ON TANNING

Tuscan Tan professional spray tan solutions contain a unique combination of violet-based bronzers that produce an instant natural tan shade when sprayed on the skin and prevent yellow/orange undertones in the developed tan. The solution adapts to any skin type as it picks up and adopts the skin's individual darker tones, whilst deepening the colour of its lighter variations to produce the most authentic looking tan in any shade desired, from lightly sun-kissed through to the darkest of tans. Better still, the tan is non-sticky, smudge-proof and completely odourless once it has developed.

Tuscan Tan Original Spray Tan

Violet-Tone Complex consists of six colourants formulated to counteract the yellow/orange undertones commonly seen in alternative DHA-based spray tan brands. Further, it creates a natural protective layer that is water resistant enabling the cosmetic bronzers to be sustained on the skin throughout the duration of the tan. This tan generally lasts 7 – 10 days before gradually and evenly fading.

Development time: 8 hours.

PREPARING for your spray-on tan

Please take note of the following preparation points prior to your spray-on tan:

Undertake all hair removal such as shaving or waxing, preferably the day before your spray tan appointment.
Exfoliate prior using Tuscan Tan Exfoliating Sugar Scrub to remove dry, dull or aged skin cells. If you have any stubborn fake tan residue remaining following exfoliation, it is recommended that you use the Tuscan Tan Tan Removal Mitt.
After exfoliating, wash using Tuscan Tan pH Balanced Skin Wash to restore the pH balance of your skin to normal levels which will ensure optimum colour development.
On the day of your spray tan appointment do not apply moisturiser, deodorant or perfume to your skin after showering as it will create a film that will prevent the tan from developing.
Bring with you to your spray tan appointment; dark coloured underwear to wear during your appointment (or we can supply a disposable g-string), and loose dark clothing and thongs to wear afterwards.

AFTERCARE for your Original 8-hour Spray-on Tan

Tuscan Tan original spray on tan requires eight hours to develop.
During the development time avoid showering, swimming or doing any physical activity that may cause perspiration, and do not apply any products to your skin.
After eight hours, you may shower, however only use Tuscan Tan pH Balanced Skin Wash as this will maintain the pH levels of your skin throughout the duration of your tan providing longevity and even fade off.
After showering pat your skin dry with your towel rather than rubbing so as not to prematurely fade your tan.
Lastly, moisturise every day using the Tuscan Tan Tinted Tan Extender lotion. Added Tuscan Tan bronzers extend the life of the spray on tan, while a subtle hint of mica
